Marajaw na adlaw, Philippine Surfing!
The Siargao Island Surfers’ Association (SISA), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte, with the support of the Local Government of General Luna, the Local Government of San Isidro, Barangay Pacifico, and Barangay Catangnan, proudly presents the Governor’s National Surfing Cup 2025 - a series of national surfing competitions across Siargao Island!
We’ll kick things off with the SISA Local Trials.
Sept 15 - 19 | Cloud 9, General Luna (GL local qualifiers) & Pacifico, San Isidro (North Siargao local qualifiers)
Then, the action continues with the main events:
2nd Pacifico National Surfing Competition: Sept 23 - 27 | Pacifico, San Isidro | UPSA GRADE 1 SB
Tuason Challenge: Sept 29 - Oct 4 | Tuason Point, General Luna | UPSA GRADE 3 SB
Mayor Jaime Plaza Rusillon Memorial Surfing Cup: Oct 6 - 11 | Cloud 9, General Luna | UPSA GRADE 3 SB
Competition Slots:
This year’s competitions will feature four divisions, all shortboard categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Junior Boys, and Junior Girls. Each division will have a set number of participants:
✅ Men’s Open - 96 surfers in total
• 32 seeded (from 2024 national rankings)
• 32 non-Siargaonon entries
• 32 qualifiers from the Siargao Local Trials
✅ Junior Boys - 64 surfers in total
• 32 seeded (from 2024 national rankings)
• 16 non-Siargaonon entries
• 16 Local Trials qualifiers
✅ Women’s Open
• 16 seeded (from 2024 national rankings)
• Remaining slots open for registration
✅ Junior Girls
• 16 seeded (from 2024 national rankings)
• Remaining slots open for registration
All events are sanctioned by the United Philippine Surfing Association (UPSA) and recognized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
