Occupational Therapy Section - MCAFP VLGH

Occupational Therapy Section - MCAFP VLGH A client-centered institution providing services to our brave Filipino soldiers & their dependents.

The year 1997 saw the birth of the Occupational Therapy Section in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center. Two vibrant and pioneering therapists hailing from the University of Perpetual Help System- Laguna undertook the Herculean task of establishing initial OT services. Ryan Marin Cayabyab, OTR/L, OTRP and Joseph Leonardo Africa, OTR/L brought to the doors of the Medical Center this v

ery unique science and art of helping physically challenged individuals to be independent and functional under the backdrop of their disability. Though these two forerunners of the OT section of the AFPMC provided their services for free, it did not hinder them to pursue their dream of sustaining an OT program until such time that the government provided a civilian item for Occupational Therapists for which Raquel Balingit, OTRP was chosen.
