Another proud moment with my little Eliana. 🥹

For children with cerebral palsy, speaking can be a great challenge. Our tongue, lips, and mouth are all made of muscles, and with CP, controlling those muscles can be difficult. That’s why every sound, every word, and every attempt means so much to us.

Today, I watched my little girl try to read using phonics, and my heart is just so full. 🥹 She may need more time and effort to say the words, but she keeps trying and that is something I will always be proud of.

It may look like a simple reading activity to others, but for us, it’s a milestone worth celebrating.

Keep trying, my little girl. Mom is always here, cheering you on every step and every word of the way. 🥹💙

A little backstory.

Since Eliana was a baby, she has been having regular eye checkups, and we found out that she has exotropia (pagkabanlag). Ever since, it has been Papa’s goal to get her the right corrective glasses to help with her eye care.

Then one day, a viral video from MOA Optical Clinic popped up on my FYP. Though it’s quite far from our location, we didn’t hesitate. We traveled all the way from Laguna to Quezon City because when it comes to Eliana’s health and well-being, every mile is worth it.

And honestly, the trip was worth it! 🥰

From the moment we arrived, the doctor and staff were so hands-on and accommodating. Everything was checked properly and thoroughly, and they made sure Eliana was comfortable throughout the process. We were even given a discount because the doctor was so kind and considerate.

If you have extra time to visit, or if you’re somewhere nearby and looking for a clinic where you can have your or your little one’s eyes checked, I highly recommend MOA Optical Clinic.

There are photos that people scroll past in seconds... but for a special needs mom, they hold a thousand emotions.

I randomly came across this photo of Eliana with her classmates, and I couldn't stop smiling.

To others, it's just a child standing with her friends. To me, it's a moment I once wondered if we'd ever have. Seeing her standing there on her own, without needing my hands to support her, filled my heart with so much joy and pride.

These are the victories that aren't always loud. The little moments that remind me how far she's come and how hard she's worked to get here.

Being a special needs mom has taught me to celebrate every milestone, no matter how small it may seem to others. Because behind every achievement is endless therapy, patience, prayers, and a little girl who never gives up.

I'm so proud of you, Mahal ko! Konti na lang..
