Ginisang Monggo Recipe

Ingredients

* 1 cup monggo (mung beans)
* 5 cups water
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 medium onion, chopped
* 2 tomatoes, chopped
* 1 cup malunggay leaves
* 150–200g pork, shrimp, tinapa, or chicharon (optional)
* 1 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
* Salt
* 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

1. Cook the monggo
Wash monggo then boil in water until soft and slightly thick, around 30–40 mins.
2. Render the pork fat
In a pan, add pork belly over medium heat. Let it cook slowly until it releases its own oil and slightly browns.
3. Gisa the aromatics
Using the pork fat, sauté garlic, onion, and tomatoes until fragrant and soft.
4. Combine
Add the cooked monggo with its broth. Simmer for 5–10 mins.
5. Season
Add patis/ salt to taste.
6. Add greens
Stir in malunggay and cook briefly until wilted.
7. Optional toppings
Top with crushed chicharon for extra sarap 🤤

Fudgy Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

* 1/2 cup (115g) butter
* 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
* 2 large eggs
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1/3 cup (40g) cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 1/4 tsp baking powder
* 1/8 tsp cornstarch (optional)
* 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional but recommended 😈)
* 1/2 cup chocolate chunks for toppings (optional)
* cashew nuts for toppings (optional)



👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter (microwave or stovetop), then mix in sugar while still warm.
3. Add eggs + vanilla, whisk until thick and glossy (this helps create that fudgy texture).
4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, baking powder.
Mix gently—don’t overmix.
5. Fold in chocolate chips.
6. Pour into pan and spread evenly.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes
👉 Slightly underbake for extra fudgy center.
8. Cool before slicing (important for clean cuts!).



🔥 Tips for extra fudgy:

* Use more butter than flour (already balanced here 👍)
* Don’t overbake—center should still be soft
* Chill in the fridge before cutting = super dense texture

Adobong Isaw ng Baboy

Ingredients
• 1 kilo isaw ng baboy
• 2 thumb-sized luya (diced / maliliit na cubes)
• 8–10 cloves garlic (minced)
• 2 onions (sliced)
• 5–6 tbsp soy sauce
• 3–4 tbsp vinegar
• 2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
• 1½–2 tsp pepper
• 4–5 pcs dried bay leaves
• 1–2 tbsp sugar (optional)
• 2 to 2½ cups water
• Oil for sautéing



🧼 Cleaning
• Baliktarin ang isaw, kuskusin with asin + s**a
• Banlawan mabuti
• Pakuluan with tubig + konting diced luya + asin (20 mins)
• Drain



🍳 Cooking
1. Mag-init ng mantika, igisa ang bawang, sibuyas, at diced luya
2. Ilagay ang isaw, sauté 5–7 minutes
3. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, paminta, at bay leaves
4. Ibuhos ang tubig, pakuluan hanggang lumambot (25–30 mins)
5. Idagdag ang s**a (wag haluin agad), pakuluan 2–3 mins
6. Haluin, ilagay ang sugar kung gusto
7. Pakuluin hanggang magmantika at medyo tuyo na
