Alternative Work Arrangements and Distance Learning on August 19, 2026
For everyone’s guidance, alternative work arrangements and learning modes will be implemented on August 19, 2026, in Metro Manila and 17 other provinces covered by Memorandum Circular No. 129.
Government offices in affected areas are expected to adopt alternative work arrangements, while public and private schools will shift to appropriate alternative learning modes, unless a different directive is issued by the local chief executive.
Affected areas include:
• Metro Manila (NCR)
• Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan
• Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales
• Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro
Essential government services, including health, disaster response, basic services, and other vital operations, will continue to operate.
For private companies, decisions on work suspension or remote work arrangements remain at the discretion of management.
Please stay informed, coordinate with your respective offices or schools, and plan accordingly. Most importantly, prioritize safety while ensuring that essential services and responsibilities continue without disruption.
