Happy World Environment Day! Today, we are reminded that healing the planet starts with the choices we make every day, especially when it comes to plastic waste.
At Guinness Nigeria, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring a safe, thriving environment now and for future generations. In line with this, we have reduced the gauge (thickness) of our shrink film, resulting in about 20% reduction in the weight of film used for can packaging. In addition, our Orijin Bitters 20cl bottles now contain 40% recycled PET (rPET) meaning nearly half of the plastic used is made from recycled materials.
Did you know?
Single-use plastics like plastic straws, plastic cutlery and many more, account for nearly half of all plastic pollution, harming ecosystems and filling our oceans, landfills, and even food chains.
Here's how you can help:
♻️ Choose reusable bottles, bags, and containers
🚫 Say no to single-use plastics like straws and cutlery
🔄 Sort and recycle your plastics correctly
🧠 Stay informed and spread the word
Let’s act, not just today, but every day to restore our Earth and reduce plastic waste. A greener, cleaner future starts with each of us.
