On this day in 1964, Malta took control of its destiny. 🇲🇹

From the Phoenicians to the British, Malta has been shaped by many rulers. But on the 21st of September 1964, our nation boldly stepped into its own future, becoming an independent state and joining the Commonwealth of Nations.

Today, we celebrate our past and honor the strength that brought us here. Melita, a symbol of resilience and independence, holds the rudder, steering Malta towards its own path. Her image reminds us of the courage and determination that defines us as a nation.

As we reflect on our history, we also look forward to a future we shape with the same spirit of independence.
