From a coal seller, to a barber, to now a superstar. JZyNo’s journey is the true definition of hustle, faith, and breakthrough.

Today is Monday, a day we acknowledge and celebrate those who have worked hard and risen above challenges. One shining example is JZyNo, one of Liberia’s most successful musical talents.

Born and raised in New Kru Town, a struggling slum community in Monrovia, JZyNo was once just a young man selling coal to survive. Life was difficult, even owning a good pair of slippers or charging his phone was a challenge. But he never gave up.

Society judged him based on his situation, but he kept moving. From selling coal, he became a barber. From cutting hair, he chased music — and now, he’s a superstar.

“On Friday night June 20th 2025, I went to hang out to Bloom Bar.
when I enter, the place was so crowded and I needed to used the restroom.
While walking to the restroom I accidentally stepped on a guy feet while walking thru the crowd.
The guy started insulting me and saying all kinds of bad things.
I then responded and said sorry I didn’t mean to step on you, the place is crowded.

While he and I was talking, I heard another person saying behind him oh that Gary man? When I look it was tango he started insulting me and mentioning my mother insulting her.

I said to him, “Bro, I’m not even talking to you, why are you insulting my mother?”
Then, he insulted my mother again.
I told him, stop insulting my mother , I too said to him that your generation you insulting.
that’s how he came up and slap my mouth and his friends jump on me.
The friends with Tango started fighting me It turned into a big fight.

Someone pushed me from behind and I drop on tango. We both fell down and started fighting.

I did not use anything on Tango. The fight didn’t even last one minute.
I also got hurt and have pictures of my cuts too.

Tango most likely got cut by a bottle on the floor or maybe the sh**ha bottle he was using—but it was not from me holding or using anything. I had nothing in my hands.

After the bouncer separated the fight I was bleeding from my mouth and legs Tango was also bleeding from his neck.

I know I should have stayed calm, but this fight was not about a woman. It started because Tango insulted my mother to my face, three times. And I insulted him back.

I’m not perfect. But please don’t think I’m some kind of monster.”

He Was Just Celebrated on Father’s Day—Now He’s Gone. 😭😭

On behalf of the Inside Grand Gedeh family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our dear sister, Mrs. Fanta Davis Korboi, on the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her beloved husband, Mr. Andrew Korboi.

Just a few days ago, Mrs. Korboi publicly honored her husband on Father’s Day—celebrating the love, strength, and dedication he brought to their family. Today, we mourn with her as that same home now feels the pain of his absence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. May the Almighty God grant them comfort, strength, and peace.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.😭🙏🏾
