Earlier today, ’s Nutrition and Food Systems Unit launched a cold room facility at Obunga Market, Kisumu.
Constructed under the EU-funded project, this facility will support over 200 fish vendors (mostly women) who sell fish by-products in tough conditions with limited or no refrigeration.
The new cold room offers safe storage, reduces food spoilage, improves vendor livelihoods, and enhances public health.
