We offer an ever-changing range of cider subscriptions, gift hampers, signature tasting kits and mixed variety cases. Bristol Cider Shop is the original independent cider shop in the UK, founded in 2010, to provide a range of craft ciders to both cider-loving and cider-curious Bristolians. Whilst some of the early history may be a bit hazy, due to a whirlwind of product tastings, having fun and le

arning about good (and bad) cider, the business moved online in 2011, to spread the word even wider. From the original shop, via the foodie hub of Harbourside, in 2020 we decided to focus our efforts online, to make proper cider available across the land. Along the way, we were honoured to be awarded UK Independent Cider Retailer of the Year in 2015 and 2018.

We may naturally be a little biased towards our beloved West Country ciders, but this month we spread our wings and pay homage to Herefordshire and its hidden cider secrets.

Long a centre of large-scale cider orchard production, feeding the Bulmer’s cider factory in Hereford City, many producers also make a lovely drop of craft cider themselves too. This month we present to you six of the very best from the region.

Vintage Cider - the biggest and boldest of flavours in the cider world. It demonstrates the cider-makers craft more so than ever. For those who aren't familiar with Vintage cider, think the equivalent of big red wines. It's perfect of a cold Winter's night, best paired with steak, casseroles, curries or cheese.

All of our sensational Vintage and Reserve Ciders have been barrel-aged, sometimes in old whisky or sherry barrels to impart an extra layer of depth and richness. The result, a collection of Vintage Ciders with big, bold, yet balanced and rounded, complex flavours - and they all pack a punch at up to 7.5% ABV!

Our cases contains six different, thumping great Vintage ciders, a selection of the best full juice ones around. For the red wine lovers amongst you, you may be familiar with 'Good Ordinary Claret'. A lovely, ‘everyday’ red that hits the spot consistently and is a go-to for its reliability.

Well, this month we have done the same with Cider – February's mixed case sees a collection of super reliable drops; crowd-pleasers, perfect chilled on their own or served with a good winter stew or curry.

The Wassail in Hornblotton is a night when there's magic in the air. Join us on Saturday 18th January from 5:30pm.

Despite the vagaries of last years’ weather, the continuing harvest of eaters, cookers and cider apples must be down to those of you wanting to ensure both the thriving of local trees and of our community spirit.

So, we invite you to join us again for the Wassail, this year to give our village apple trees - and another year as a community - a hale and hearty start. We’ll be joined by the Four Foot Four for music and ceilidh dancing as well as serving hot food and of course, mulled cider.

We will be dispatching orders on Monday 23rd December, however we cannot guarantee these will be delivered before the big day. Now is the time to order to ensure you're not disappointed!

Our hardworking Warehouse team will be taking a bit of a break over the festive period. Orders will be dispatched, however please do refer to our delivery estimate for an ETA as things will be a little more relaxed, as we recoup after a busy season.

Cider apple varieties are very different from eaters – bitter and typically inedible off the tree, they're floury and everything you wouldn’t want compared to the taste of a nice dessert apple. Do take care what you pick should you plan to go scrumping soon!

From wonderful varieties like Dabinett, Kingston Black, and Yarlington Mill, to amusing old names like Slack ma Girdle, Foxwhelp and Brown Snout, all speak of heritage hundreds of years old, passed down much unchanged in growing and making.

It’s that time of the year, the children are back at School, the evenings are drawing in - and our now famous Cider Advent Calendars are back! Pre-order are now live for delivery by the end of October.

This year we've worked incredibly hard to maintain and hold the same great price of £89.00, despite it being bigger and better than ever.

The 2024 version is packed with old favourites – but for regular buyers half of the ciders are brand spanking new, including a record number of bigger 500ml bottles too.

Discover a 330ml bottle or can every day, with a few 500ml thrown in too, of lovely, 100% full juice cider, hiding behind each numbered door. It's the only way we'd want to count down the days in December and build up to the Big Day.

Numbers are limited, as we brace our soon-to-be-sore elbows for packing thousands and thousands of bottles, so please order early to secure yours.

September’s Monthly Case. Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme, with feedback from over 500 tastings to agree the awards. It is a real badge of honour, managed each year by Guild of Fine Food

This month we have selected a special case only from those recent award winners, for you. We hope you enjoy them as much as we and the many judges did too. Featuring only the very best from the likes of The Cotswold Cider Company and Williams Brothers Cider, we know we’re biased, but this really is one that’s too good to miss.

On Sunday we had the honour of hosting the People’s Choice Cider Competition at the , a stones throw away from BCS HQ🏆 An utterly charming day, it was so lovely to step away from the office and orchards to catch up with a few customers, old and new and of course, with lots of assistance, discover and crown the new People’s Choice champion.

Six previous show winners were tried and taste tested by hundreds of show revellers under Sunday’s sunny skies 🌞 Hotly contested, our lucky winner just had the edge, pipping ’s Dabinett Cider and Southdown’s Festival Cider to the post. The cream of the crop - Medium Sparkling. Huge congratulations Tom!

Cider is mostly associated with the West Country and the Three Counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. So this month, we’ve had fun scanning the shires outside these parts to assemble a case of ciders from beyond these main regions, demonstrating the countrywide nature of craft cider production.

From Yorkshire to Hampshire, Berkshire to Nottingham, we salute you and your ciders in our August case! Fasten your seatbelt, we are off on a cross-country roadtrip this month!
