HAPPY SATURDAY / HAKE X HOUSE DAY! ☀️🍇🦪🇬🇷

The first instalment of our Hake Saturday’s have arrived. They’ll be here serving from 6-9 with their delicious new summer menu! Walk-in’s only, grab a table and we’ll get you fed and watered.

For the first week we’re taking our wine list to the sunnier climates of Greece! An incredibly historical wine country, but in our opinion way under represented in the modern wine world. We’ve got wines pouring from the north near Thessaloniki and all the way down through the Cyclades in Kefalonia, Samos & Crete.

Beer wise we’ve got a lovely summer board filled with new radlers, sours, juicy pales and even a delicious smoked beer! Perfect with some oysters, perhaps.

Come on down, we’re open from 2, It’s better than being sat at home!

HWC PRESENTS: HAIL, DIONYSUS!
A Big, Fat Greek Wine Tasting

This month’s tasting takes to the historical birthplace of wine: Greece and its many Islands! Few nations have wine in their blood as the Greeks do, boasting possibly the longest recorded history of wine and viticulture, beginning in the Bronze Age with the Minoan & Mycenaean civilisations being the first to cultivate grapes for wine production. Today, the Greek wine industry is still booming, and with the emergence of more and more natural winemakers creating wines from indigenous grapes and traditional techniques it’s stepping more and more into the limelight. Greece is one of our favourite countries to visit and purchase wine from and I can’t wait to share some of these amazing wines with you all!

Join us on Thursday 12th June at 7pm for a night of 5 Greek wines, from across the mainland and the islands, plus a Greek feast including Dakos, Taramasalata, Tzatziki, Dolmades and maybe even a Moussaka!

HOUSE X HAKE II

Following an amazing February of Saturday pop ups with our favourite seafood slingers we’ve brought it back!
Every Saturday evening in June, Hake will be outside serving their new summer menu.
Each week our wine menu will highlight different coastal regions around Europe from The Cyclades in Greece to the Balaeriac Islands and Mediterranean climbs.
Food will be served from 6-9 each week and we’ll be pouring the wines all day and all night long!
Can’t wait to see everyone enjoying some fresh seafood and wine - our favourite combination! No bookings or tickets required just rock up and we’ll get you fed and watered.

Heaton Wine Club presents: A Very British Wine Tasting

We’re back with a selection of British wines, perfect for these warmer days!
Wine production in the UK has historically been seen as not ideal due to our cold climate.
However, warmer summers in recent years and grapes adapting to these conditions has led to an increase in winemaking over the past 20 years. Over the past few years especially, a new generation of young winemakers have come on the scene following the biodynamic and low intervention methods of the natural wine movement. It’s my pleasure to showcase some of the very best British wines from the likes of and more!

Easter Hours!

Hello - just a quick rundown of our Easter opening hours for this long weekend as there’s lots going on.

Friday & Saturday we’ll be open as usual 2-11 and joined by + for our Easter party. Come down, have a dance, have some food, have some fun! Walk in’s only and if you want to come only for a drink too that’s absolutely fine. Everybody welcome!

For Easter Sunday we’ll be open from 2! There’ll be some rare and special treats pouring by the glass and lots of cheese to go around.

Finally, we’re open Easter Monday too! We’ll be here 5-10 for any of your late Easter celebrations.

(Plus 5-10 today and tomorrow as usual too!)

We’re so excited to announce a fun filled evening of painting & drinking wine (or beer), led by the amazing illustrator

Merch! We have merch!

We are so excited to share with you all our first line of merch to come out of House. They are heavy duty, 100% recycled cotton bags with double sided designs so you can show it off whichever way you’re standing.

Modelled spectacularly by who after a year here is making an emphatic debut on the feed - (She has also just started check it out!)

They are £15 this weekend only! Then £18 after that. Very limited quantity for now so if you want one pop in and secure it. Maybe even get a bottle or three to pop in there!

HWC x SRUK Present: Viva Espana!

I’m very excited to announce an extra special tasting THIS FRIDAY! An exploration of various regions of Spain - from Cava producers on the northern Mediterranean coast & saline Albariño from Rias Baixas, to juicy Tempranillo from Rioja. Spain’s diverse landscape makes it one of the most exciting wine producing countries and also the country with the largest land area dedicated to vineyards!

After the tasting, the Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom will be taking over to host an exciting talk titled ‘Say Cheese, Sip Wine: The Art of Fermentation’

HAPPY FIELDS DAY!

We’re super excited to be one of the launch venues of ‘s new limited edition set of beers. All hand selected by the brewery at the Yakima Chief harvest in Oregon.
We have the 5% DDH pale which is a double dry hopped pale packed with citra and mosaic, full of marmalade and orange flavours. Also, the 6.5% IPA with mosaic and Idaho-7, a luxurious mouthfeel with summer fruits flavours. Both available from open!
If you can get to us our friends at - , , are also pouring!

More exciting news for all you fromage heads, we have a new blue cheese available as an addition on our cheese plate menu. Cashel Blue is a whole cows milk cheese from Co. Tipperary named after a historical site local to the area. It’s a firm but creamy texture with a tangy but not strong blue flavour. Delicious!

Finally, we have 3 great wines hitting the BTG list weekend.
‘Riesling - Domaine Goepp’ - A lean, bright & mineral Riesling from Alsace
‘Just Enjoy - Botts Frigyes’ - A vibrant Slovakian skin contact wine with ripe peach & mango flavours.
‘Les Champs Magnetiques - Val De Combres’ - A savoury, rich orange wine with complex flavours, perfect with a cheese plate.

HWC PRESENTS: VIVE LE VIN!

Our good friend Zoe from one of our favourite distributors is once again joining us to take us on a journey through the wine regions of France!

France is the most famous and renowned wine-making country in the world and this is no different in regard to natural wine. The natural wine movement as we know it began in France as a push-back to chemical agriculture and has evolved into to a commitment against the use of pesticides, adding minimal-to-no sulphur, sorting grapes for quality control, and making any additions to the wine - in short, a commitment to make and promote pure wines.
France to this day remains a pioneer and the centre-point for natural wine makers. Throughout the night we’ll taste wines from many regions such as the Loire, Alsace, Languedoc & Ardeche, tasting a variety of wines from Beattie & Robert’s’ amazing portfolio!

We are a small, friendly independent natural wine and craft beer bar and bottle shop on Heaton Road.

What we’re looking for:

A passion for wine, ideally focusing on the low intervention and natural side.
An interest in modern and exciting beer and breweries.
An interest in food and events.
Great customer service skills
Available to work weekends
Available throughout the summer ☀️
