!Your village needs you! This post goes out to all the residents of Methven and to those who visit and enjoy our park and The Den. As we approach spring and people start to get out and about a bit more we are appealing to as many people as possible to join us for a morning/couple of hours of volunteering on the 7th March. In Methven, our park and the Den are areas that we are all familiar with but not everyone will be aware that these areas actually belong to the village and not Perth & Kinross council. They are managed and maintained by volunteers (Methven Park Committee)and have been for many years. Over the past few years, as our village has grown, we have seen the number of volunteers decrease. I suppose this is a bit of a call to arms… not everyone has time(or wants to) to sit on a committee but we are hoping that more people will find a way to free up even a couple of hours, a couple of times a year to help us maintain and improve our community spaces. We can’t do it without more people getting involved. There are so many skilled and able people in the village and we would love to have as many people as possible along on the 7th to give the Park and the Den a good tidy up so we can all enjoy it at its best when the better weather comes. I would urge anyone who is a regular user of either site to get involved. I would also extend thanks to those who currently volunteer or who have volunteered in the past. We hope you will continue to support us in maintaining our village spaces and hosting our village events.
