The world of sparkling wine is a wide one with some particularly wonderful examples coming from South Africa, known as Cap Classique. The traditional method of sparkling wine was pioneered in France but it has found a home around the world with producers creating wines that balance freshness, fruit and luxury. This 18-year-old single malt was released in 2024 as part of The Macallan Sherry Oak Collection. Matured in hand-picked sherry casks from Jerez, it is full-bodied, with aromas of stem ginger, raisins and sultanas, orange and cinnamon on the nose, with dark chocolate covered ginger, dates and dried apricots filling the palate. 🍊
