The Giro d'Italia is already rolling past the first vineyards and wineries in the Giro25 wine case.
on stage 4 we see the Salice Salentino Il Pumo make it's appearance.
"San Marzano is a small town in the heart of Manduria, a narrow strip of land between the two seas that embrace the Puglia region. It was here that 19 winegrowers came together to found Cantine San Marzano. This wine is a classic Salento blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi. It's full-bodied, with a pleasantly fresh and balanced finish. Best served with cured meats, savoury pasta dishes, red meat, and aged cheeses."
Two days later, this was quickly followed up with the Vigneti Tardis, Martedi Paestum Rosso from Campania.
"London sommelier Jack Lewens is the driving force behind Vigneti Tardis, and his goal is to produce organic wines as naturally as possible, with nothing added apart from the absolute minimum of SO₂. The soils are dominated by sedimentary limestone, interspersed with pockets of schist, quartz, clay, sand, and slate. All vineyards are farmed organically. The wine is low in tannins but rich in the authentic fruit profile of the variety — a juicy, versatile red that can even be chilled. There are seven wines in the range, each named after a day of the week. This one is Tuesday.
This isn’t your typical Aglianico. It’s a more delicate, less extracted interpretation than those from other parts of Campania, offering excellent drinkability and a distinct sense of individuality."
It's definitely a solid start and we will no doubt build be delivering some more great wines.
