In September 2005 The Whisky Exchange set up a retail outlet inside the Vinopolis Wine Tasting Attraction, situated on London's Southbank. In 2015 we opened a new shop on Bedford Street, between The Strand and Covent Garden, offering an even wider range of fantastic drinks. The Whisky Exchange shop give everyone an opportunity to see the extent of the range of whisky and fine spirits that we have

online in person, with the added option of on-the-spot advice about any of our products from our knowledgable, passionate staff. We also have the widest selection of world whiskies, gins, rums, cognacs and other spirits that you will find anywhere in the UK. Our range is constantly expanding and updating as new and exciting spirits and liqueurs are being released all the time. In our everlasting mission to educate and expand your palates we hold various tasting events. This not only gives you the chance to sample a range of expressions from a given producer, but also the opportunity to meet the people responsible for creating many of the products that we all enjoy so much.

Always one of the best ways to really understand a spirit and get to taste across a category, our Barrel-Top tastings are a chance to sample a range of whiskies at your own pace in a more informal setting.

This 14 August, we're diving into the big, bold, beautiful world of American Whiskey. We've got classics like Michter's and Evan Williams as well as some examples from the new wave of single malt producers, and a clutch of our own exclusives.

Cognac and the Magic of Distillation 🪄🔗 https://bit.ly/3UsjH5b

There is something between magic, alchemy, art and science in distillation, and perhaps nowhere are those distinctions blurred more than in Cognac. Here, the rules are strictly defined and governed by the law.

Unlike stable grain or molasses, grapes and wine spoil quite quickly. This means that there is a short season, or as they call it in Cognac, a campaign of distilling which runs from the harvest to early spring, conveniently, when the vineyards are sleeping.

The nature of the still, and its bulbous, dare we say Rubenesque, shape are rooted in the history of the region, with the very first stills brought down to the Charentes by Low Country merchants. They have remained direct fired, the majority now use gas, but there are still some hold outs using wood, and with that shape, the distillate always has a beautiful texture.

This single malt was distilled in 1990 and aged for more than three decades in an ex-sherry cask

Laphroaig is known for its medicinal, briny and heavily smoky character which works well when combined with sweet notes of sherry and dried fruits 👌

One of our past exclusive releases not to forget about 😮‍💨

A special 2009-vintage single malt whisky from Benrinnes specially selected by and bottled for The Whisky Exchange customers👏 https://bit.ly/4mAwEGn

It was matured in a single refill sherry butt for 12 years, before being bottled in 2022, giving it a rich and balanced festive character of spice, sweet fruit and toffee

The palate offers notes of sweet raisins, stewed berries, sticky toffee pudding and baked apples, with cinder toffee notes that linger into the finish
