I’m wondering if anyone happened to see the nasty post left
for me from an extremely spineless ‘woman’ called 'Hazel Steel'? This is a fake account to troll me!

I’ve reported ‘her’ to Facebook, and I’m about to report this
to the police because I suspect it’s from a local sexist, chauvinistic man, who is related to a couple from an earlier dispute.

We’ve had problems with fly-tipping holidaymakers leaving rubbish in or by our trade bins since we’ve been here. Not everyone does it, though.

This is happening because a couple with holiday cottages has not paid for a trade bin. Apparently, the holidaymakers are told to
take their rubbish with them. They complain to us about how bossy the owners are with their long list of dos and don'ts. We just listen and make no comment.

A few weeks ago, I sat down, searched through our CCTV footage, identified the latest people fly-tipping, and reported them to the police. They gave me a Crime Number.

When ‘Hazel Steel’ came into our shop (it wasn't Hazel Steel, it was a man), Dara was telling 'Hazel' to tell his family, to tell their holidaymakers, not to fly-tip here or anywhere.

‘Hazel Steel’ stood there lying to Dara, which we were
surprised at because he’s told us he can’t stand his son-in-law, and now, he’s lying to help him.

It did get heated, and I did swear at the situation, not at him… (but that ruins a good story, eh?)… oh, I hate a woman who swears…he said, then he had a big meltdown, slamming the door on the way out – it was very childish really.

We really don’t care what other people do, but when it
affects us, we draw the line. We have to pay if our bin weighs more than a certain amount, which it sometimes does. I have all the invoices. Maybe I should claim it from them?

So, 'Hazel Steel' hates a woman who swears. If that's the worst thing I do in my life, I don't think that's too bad.

I hate liars. I hate spineless & weak Trolls hiding behind a computer screen. I hate people who steal from or don't pay their way in their Community. I hate people who mix their trade waste with domestic waste.

I'm sure everyone who reads this will be paying their way. Plus, all the businesses will have a trade bin - it's the law, and the holiday lets are a business.

Counsellor Wyn Thomas had a word with the holiday lets family, and they apologised to us... Obviously, just empty words. They've been seen dumping trade waste at 'Hazel Steels' address now.

Then we get the weedy Troll, 'Hazel Steel', doing 'her' thang - and he says he won't come in our shop anymore - that's for one newspaper a day and a chocolate bar once a month, boy, we're gonna miss him!

Beware of Hazel Steel, she's just made matters worse!

So far so good in Penrhiwllan.

I watched the snow coming down last night, which quickly turned to sleet. This morning we had driving rain and hailstones. Our electricity keeps flickering but staying on, thankfully.

I hope the whole village/everyone is faring well too 🤞🙏

The worst of the storm has passed, but the rain/sleet/wind is still with us with a warning of ice as we dip to -1°c tonight.

Stay safe.

Julie and Dara xx

Here comes another storm to hit Penrhiwllan!

Hopefully, it won't be as bad as they predict on the weather updates, but if it does turn out to be as horrendous as they're saying, we are more prepared this time around.

We have a large generator that will enable us to keep the shop open if the electricity is cut off. This will at least allow anyone to get any basics they may need, even if it's just a cup of tea or coffee - you can sit on the bus and keep warm.

We also have a small team of volunteers who can help anyone in our community who is vulnerable and needs assistance, especially if they're snowed in.

My mobile number is 07535 42 88 88

We are also looking for a couple of people with 4x4s who can offer some time to help someone vulnerable in Penrhiwllan and the surrounding areas. It may just be as little as delivering firelighters or food.

Fingers crossed, it's all hype, and there will be a slight breeze and a small drop of rain, and we'll all say, "What was all that about?"

Keep safe and warm, everyone.

Julie and Dara xx

*** Storm Darragh and the National Grid Non-Payments ***

Councillor Wyn Thomas asked me to post the information below to our page, so here it is!

Once again we have a fight on our hands, let's stick together and send our individual claims to Lois Davies.

Unity is strength!

I got the power!

Yes, our electricity is on and the shop is open although, everything in the fridges and freezers is spoilt including milk, cheese, bacon, pizzas, chips, chicken....

We will get Morfa Milk later today for those who usually order it.

I'm really surprised that the facility to open the hall for the community to go to for tea and coffee, maybe some hot soup, and a warm place to sit and chat for a few hours wasn't in place.

Obviously, they don't have a generator which may be a priority to get for future incidents like this.

I wonder why this part of the Country, with so many trees, put their minimal infrastructure attached to pylons and not underground?

The technology for doing this has been around for decades, actually, decades into the last century but it appears this hasn't been started...such a shame.

This is where the money should've gone instead of the 20mph scheme!

The majority rely on electricity, even for our oil boilers to work.

Like everyone, we've had no heat, no light and have had to keep our shop closed, therefore, we've lost business.. but we will get over this.

I hope our vulnerable people have been coping ok.

A massive thank you to our wonderful friends and neighbours, (Gary and family... and I know you were there in spirit, Sam), for coming in one day a couple of weeks ago and SEALING all the windows on the bus.

You all gave up your own time to help us and never charged us a penny... we are both truly grateful for your help and kindness.

It was a big job that should have been completed ages ago, (another job we were let down on), and we've been worried about any leaks, especially with all the driving rain!

Thank You, Team Gary, Sam and Family xx 🥰

So, the inside of our bus is very slowly coming together but we need to begin the work on the outside. We urgently need someone or two people to seal the outside of the upstairs windows and place vinyl over the top to double-seal them. If you can do this or know someone who can/will do this, please ask them to call 07456 977 393 or pop in the shop.
We also need some scaffolding to enable the above to be carried out, if anyone could loan some to us.
We really need to get this project over the finish line. We've been so let down by many people, including locals, which is a real shame. The community needs this hub, we don't want another Christmas to go by without it.
Even if you can only spare a couple of hours, it's better than nothing.
Please help in any way you can... We need Plumbers - Gas Safe, Carpenters, Painters, general labourers for Sanding Down, Jet washing the Bus...etc., etc.
Thank you.

Mark Williams, Lib-Dem Candidate, turned up at our shop. I missed him but Dara had a lovely chat with him and thought he was a charming and respectful man.

We've not seen any other candidates!
