⚠️ COMMUNITY NOTICE – AGNEWS FAMILY SHOPPER ⚠️

We are very proud of our local shop, our hardworking staff and the fantastic community that supports us. The overwhelming majority of our customers are honest, respectful local families, and we genuinely appreciate every one of you.

Unfortunately, after several quiet weeks, we have had another shoplifting incident involving laundry products.

The individuals involved were challenged at the time and denied taking anything. However, after checking the situation and reviewing our CCTV footage, we confirmed that items had been taken without payment. The relevant CCTV footage has been retained and can be provided to the police.

It is extremely disappointing to see people behaving this way towards their own local shop. There is simply no excuse for stealing, and anyone choosing to do this should be ashamed of their actions. Small local businesses and their staff work extremely hard to serve their communities.

If someone is genuinely struggling to afford basic household essentials, please speak to us rather than taking items without paying. Where we reasonably can, we would much rather try to help someone in genuine need.

If anyone has genuine and relevant information about this incident, please leave it in the comments. Any useful information can help us cooperate with the police if required. Please keep all comments factual and respectful — do not threaten, abuse or confront anyone shown in the footage.

We would appreciate the community sharing this post responsibly to raise awareness and help prevent further incidents.
