Could you spare just one hour a month to support Downton Link?
Downton Link is a much loved local transport scheme serving Downton, Charlton, Woodfalls, Morgans Vale, Redlynch, Lover, Hale, Woodgreen and Breamore. It helps people get to medical appointments, shops, social activities and more — all thanks to volunteers who give a little of their time.
We’re delighted to welcome Phil Rogers (Chairman) to the shop on Tuesday 12 May, 10–11am. Why not drop in, say hello, and discover how you could get involved? Whether you’re curious about volunteering or think you might benefit from the service yourself, Phil will be happy to chat.

Designing eye‑catching social media posts

Putting together a newsletter template

Important Update: New Sunday Opening Hours

Starting Sunday 12th April, we will be introducing our new permanent Sunday opening hours 10am - 1pm.
Please make a note of this change as it will apply every week going forward. This includes those customers who collect a newspaper from the shop - from 10am is your new time!

As many of you know, our shop is proudly community owned and a member of Plunkett UK, the charity that supports community businesses like ours across the country.
Plunkett are currently championing rural shops with Post Offices — including us here in Woodgreen — by highlighting to Government and the Post Office just how many community run stores are using their own profits to keep postal services going. It’s a huge issue for communities like ours, and we’re incredibly grateful for their work.
Here’s hoping their efforts spark the change we all need 🤞

IMPORTANT ' CLOSURE' ON SUNDAY 29TH MARCH.
Please note we have to do our annual stock take on Sunday so we will be closing the shop.
If you have a regular newspaper order on Sundays we will put it outside for you to collect. However we regret the shop will be closed for any other items including newspapers.
Back at 8am on Monday!

Tomorrow, thankfully, we are having our car park repaired - so please take care on the limited parking space available.
We have arranged parking for our staff elsewhere and the work will be carried out on only half of the area at any one time so please bear with us -should only take one day!
