Spreading the word about the Results Helpline is crucial to making sure its support reaches those who need it most.

Members of the Skills Development Scotland team spoke with the media in Glasgow this morning on how the service can help both young people as well as parents and carers.

The Results Helpline will open at 8am tomorrow morning, 5 August.

Today, thousands of teenagers across Scotland will open an envelope, click a link, or refresh a screen waiting for letters and numbers to tell them how they did.

Now, I could write a big motivational speech here about how exams don’t define you. And they don’t.

But let’s not pretend that helps much when you’re 17, surrounded by pressure, comparison, nerves and anxiety.

Results day is tough.

Not because of what’s on the paper, but because of everything behind it. The late nights. The self-doubt. The fear of not being “enough.” And the quiet hope that maybe, just maybe, they smashed it.

So tomorrow, whether people get what they wanted or not, I’ll be reminding my son of this:

He is not his grades.

He is his kindness. His creativity. His ability to make people laugh at the exact moment they need it. He is a hundred brilliant things no exam could ever measure.

To every young person waiting for results…we see you. We’re proud of you. And no matter what that piece of paper/text message says, you’re already so much more than it can ever show.

Let's get behind our kids and be proud of what they have achieved, just being at school is an achievement and anything else is a bonus..
