Something a little different as you’d expect!

Chris likes doing puzzles, the problem is what do you do with puzzles when you’re done?

I suggested a puzzle swap. So if you’re puzzle mad too and have a puzzle you couldn’t bare to throw away but just don’t have space for another, why not swap with Chris.

Here’s one he’s just completed, 1000 pieces.

🚨 IMPORTANT BALMACLELLAN STORE UPDATE 🚨

Balmaclellan Store has today formally removed the word “quick” from the phrase:

“I’m just popping to the shop quickly.”

Our reasoning is straightforward: nobody has ever managed it.

You cannot enter for a pint of milk, discuss the potholes, hear who has moved into the village, receive three weather forecasts, debate the council and then claim it was a quick visit.

That is simply dishonest.

From now on, an official visit to Balmaclellan Store must include at least one of the following:

🛒 Buying something you didn’t come in for
🛒 Forgetting the thing you actually needed
🛒 Hearing a piece of news before it reaches Facebook
🛒 Saying “I’d better get going” at least three times
🛒 Standing in the doorway for another ten minutes
🛒 Returning later because you forgot the milk

Customers have had years to come in, buy what they need and leave promptly, but have repeatedly refused.

We will therefore now be officially listed as:

“Balmaclellan Store: Groceries, Gifts and an Unscheduled Community Briefing.”

Quick visits will be reinstated once people stop chatting.

We do not expect this to happen.

Hi All,

I said I'd update about the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. Well it's been approved.

Anyone can join even if you're not in the mapped area (I didn't know how far to go with it), you will still get alerts to let ou know whats happening. Alerts will come from the police, fire brigade and local authority.

You can of course opt in and out of those.

Galloway Community Transport is looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our small team in New Galloway.

We’re looking for a practical all-rounder who can organise bookings, work with customers, drivers and volunteers, use Excel and keep things running smoothly but who is also happy to get stuck in with the practical side of things, from checking tyre pressures to washing a vehicle!

🚐 21 hours per week
📍 Based in New Galloway
💼 Permanent position
💷 £14,687 per annum
🏠 Flexible working by arrangement

Full training and support will be provided, including minibus driving training where required.
