Dramfool are renowned for bottling some wonderful whiskies from Bruichladdich. Including some spectacular older versions.
This sherried Bruichladdich is such a wonderful older release.
Bruichladdich, 29 years old from distilled at in 1990 and bottled in 2020 having matured for 29 years in an Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. Un-chill filtered and cask strength 48.1% and yielded 229 bottles.
Tasting Notes by Dramfool:
Nose neat: Raisins, prunes, figs, rich honey blackcurrants, dark treacle and vine tomatoes.
Taste neat: Very smooth, lots of dark fruits, Ribena, dark treacle and cocoa. Long lingering aftertaste.
Nose diluted: Still lots of Raisins, prunes and figs. Christmas cake, with red cherries and treacle toffee.
Taste diluted: Rich dark fruits, Ribena, cocoa, treacle toffee, plums and cherries. This whisky is constantly evolving in the glass.
