Over Christmas, we've been busy with this bombshell (and something else too, but that's a story for another day). After all the delays due to unforeseeable circumstances (NGL, the Scots can be a bit laid back sometimes), our newest baby has arrived!

We are proud to announce Zesty Assassin!

We've wrapped this waxy, full of lime-and-lemon-forward bottle in an Assassin theme, because it hits you with unexpected coconut wood notes from left and right 🤯 Deanston has a very special place in our hearts, simple because all of us find the spirit so uniquely distinctive. This bottle is no different, though let's be honest, the cask has done an amazing job as well 🙃

Pro tip: This offers an amazing vertical tasting opportunity alongside Deanston's Virgin Orak, which is also bottled at 58.5%.

Anyway, less talk, more whisky, hope you slide into the New Year peacefully ✌🏻

It’s autumn, and we’ve found the perfect autumn whisky. We love all our whiskies - but this one nearly turned violent. After tasting the cask sample, Andrew threw a 45 minute tantrum and threatened to form a one man union if we didn’t bottle it. We bottled it. We’re in autumn love (and Andrew’s finally calm).

Here we go again! 🥭🍚🍐

On the stage, he crooned about love, heartbreak, and the kind of dram that makes your knees weak. Off the stage, he had one true passion: Campbeltown malts.

This full maturation Sauternes cask malt is a tribute to the man. It is syrupy, sultry, and just a little bit naughty.

Legend has it that after his last gig, Dicky wandered into a warehouse and never left. We found the cask. We’re not sure about Dicky.

One cask. No chill filtration. Maximum Soul!

Nose 👃🏻
A creamy, slightly funky bouquet opens with tropical notes of mango and peach, complemented by fresh pear and a hint of bubblegum. Subtle mineral undertones add depth and complexity.

Palate 👅
Rich and indulgent, with flavors of apple cake and caramel fudge leading the way. Mango sticky rice and vanilla lend a smooth, dessert-like profile, while a touch of pine balances the sweetness with a gentle, herbal edge.

Finish 🏁
Medium-long and creamy, with a bittersweet fade. Notes of candied ginger add warmth, while chinotto and sarsaparilla bring a gently bitter, root-like complexity that rounds out the experience.

The plan was there from the start, but we finally found the right spirit, from the Southern Part of the "Queen" of the whisky islands. We adore most things Scottish, among them is another soft drink. Bohmeian Schnapidee is finished in a cask that previously held a fortified version of that drink. *wink wink*

The development of this whisky was a wild ride! After a slow start, the cask influence kicked in big time after two months, delivering a seriously surprising result. This is for the whisky rebels, the ones who like their drams fun, a little weird, and definitely not boring – a refreshing take in our opinion. You might love it, you might not, but we had a blast making it, and more unconventional VAME bottlings are coming your way 🤗.

Btw. It's a banger. Sweet Peat on overdrive, but surprisingly umami.

We are not finished yet; these malts were then blended in an Oloroso cask 🤯
