This week’s feature at Cara’s – the classic Reuben!
Stacked high and pressed to perfection, our Reuben is made the traditional way – corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, mustard, onions and creamy dressing on marble rye.

This iconic sandwich has roots tracing back to early 20th-century delis, with the most popular story pointing to Reuben Kulakofsky, a grocer in Omaha, Nebraska, who created it during a late-night poker game. Whether that’s fact or folklore, one thing’s certain – the Reuben is a timeless favourite.

Our CHHA Annual Tea Party took place on Tuesday, June 10 — and just like every year, it was a wonderful afternoon spent with our amazing members!

This event is our special way of saying thank you for your continued support. From the delicious sandwiches and desserts by Cara's Convenience and Deli to the always-popular Penny Table, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

New gnocchi flavours exclusively here at Cara’s ! 🥔✨

Just like our traditional potato gnocchi, these two new flavours are handmade with care — light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. Delicate pillows of perfection that are easier to cook than you think!

✨ Available Flavours:
– Classic Potato
– Beet & Ricotta
– Sweet Potato

🧊 Important: Keep them frozen and always cook straight from frozen. No thawing!

How to cook:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop in the gnocchi and give them a gentle stir. When most of them float to the top (1/2 to 3/4 of them) (about 2–3 minutes), they’re done! Carefully lift them out using a slotted spoon or small strainer — they’re delicate and deserve gentle handling. Then toss with your favourite sauce, butter, or olive oil and enjoy.
