Before Haritha and I opened the shop in September 2023, I had some Port Medway keychains made to celebrate. They were super popular, so we decided to restock for this summer. We also added pins into the mix!

Wanting to rep one of our neighbouring communities? We also decided to make pins and keychains that just say "South Shore."

They are all $10, and we have limited numbers of each. I find them just so charming. ❤️

This past weekend was the third anniversary of Haritha and I seeing Port Medway -- and this building -- for the first time. It's so hard to believe!

A lot has happened since then, and maybe some of you are wondering how we ended up here. If so, here is my 2023 blog post about how we came to buy 1615 Port Medway Road.

✨ Easter Weekend Hours at Rosefinch Mercantile! ✨

We'll be CLOSED on:

Good Friday (April 18)
Easter Sunday (April 20)
Easter Monday (April 21)

But we're OPEN on Saturday, April 19 from 10am to 5pm!

Since Canada Post observes both Good Friday and Easter Monday as holidays, we're taking the rare opportunity to close the shop for a three-day weekend. As you know, being a post office outlet means we normally can't close during the week, so we're adding Easter Sunday into the mix to give our team a proper break.

We'll miss our Sunday Crafternoon, but we'll be back on the 27th!

If you need to pick up parcels or grab any treats, Saturday's your day to visit! 🐣

Don't forget everyone, this delightful event is happening on Thursday at 7pm at our shop! People are welcome to come just to listen, no pressure at all to share. I know a few folks are bringing stories and items to talk about. I'm really looking forward to this!

On April 17 at 7pm, join us in Port Medway for a Community Show & Tell event! We are delighted to partner with the Medway Area Heritage Society to host an evening of sharing memories and discovering local history through our own eyes.

No need to sign up in advance, and you can talk a little bit or a lot! Whether you have an old postcard, your grandmother's recipe book, or a memory from a long ago fishing trip, every item holds a piece of our little village's story.

So bring along Port Medway photographs, treasured objects, and the stories behind them -- or just come to listen and learn!

All ages welcome! Free admission. Drinks and snacks available for purchase. Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room is at 1615 Port Medway Road, a fully accessible space.

We're looking for someone (30 or under!) magical to join our little team this summer. If you haven't been to visit us yet, we're a fully accessible all-ages community hub in Port Medway where you can grab a coffee, browse Canadian curios, have a meal, and (most importantly) connect with other humans.

We need a creative soul to help us animate our space and organize events that bring people together. Someone who gets excited about making magical moments of creativity and connection.

We had just the loveliest afternoon today with an inaugural Celtic jam session! It was the first time this group had played together, but you'd never know it.

The plan is for this to happen a couple of times a month here at the cafe. The next one will be April 22nd at 2pm if you'd like to come listen or join in!

A breakfast sandwich on the best biscuit I've ever had! Gluten free options! Three types of quiche! All in our lovely little village! We are so lucky. ❤️

Hey friends!

The first community garden gathering of the season is happening tomorrow behind Rosefinch Mercantile. Truly a sign that spring is finally here for real.

Vincent Dieras (the mastermind behind the garden) will be there to welcome seasoned green thumbs, and people who can't tell a w**d from a wildflower (like me, honestly).

What's happening:
- Free seeds to take home!
- Puttering about in the greenhouse
- Meeting fellow garden-curious folks
- Learning something new

This gorgeous community garden has been beautifying and feeding Port Medway for a whole decade (long before we even dreamed of owning this building). It's one of those magical Port Medway treasures that makes our little village so special.

So throw on a hat, grab a friend or come alone, and stop by to hang out with us tomorrow! I'll be the one asking too many questions about which plants are which.

P.S. Vincent specifically mentioned that no gardening experience is necessary — just bring your enthusiasm! And did I mention there will be FREE SEEDS?!

When Haritha and I met nearly seven years ago in Toronto, he was working behind a bar on Dundas West. Neither of us could have imagined that in 2025 we'd be living in a beautiful seaside village, and he'd have traded in making craft cocktails for baking cinnamon rolls.

It fills me with joy to watch him bring the same creativity and care to running this space as he did managing that one. Every single day he does something that makes me so proud that my heart could burst—whether it's improvising an ice cream sandwich so as not to disappoint a little girl with sparkly cat ears, or staying up to 3am cutting a hole in the wall to install an ice machine.

We are having so much fun on this shared project (and life!) but it's of course also a lot of work. There is no one else I can imagine doing this with. ❤️
