NO WAKE ZONE Reminder - Mouth of Shuswap River from the Boat Launch to the end of the second set of Rivermouth Marina slips is a No Wake Zone. See the pics for the location of the No Wake Bouy.
Most of the incidents seem to be coming from properties on both sides of the lake. If you have tenants or guests, please remind them of the water safety rules before any damage is done at the Marina, or worse any injuries occur. It is not a matter of speed so much as being aware of the wake. Check behind, if boats are bouncing in the Marina, that is too much.
In the last 3 weeks or so, we have stopped a pair of young boys ripping down the river in a dinghy with no life jackets. There have been pontoon and ski boats going too fast and creating wake whilst coming into the Marina for gas or drop offs. We have had numerous PWCs going at high speed down the river, and then turning around to do tricks, and even letting a small child operate this very powerful machine. We warn and explain to as many as we see, but we don't get to speak to everyone.
