Is it important to you to have an independent, Aussie owned beer industry? Taxes and unfair business practices of the duopoly of Japanese multinational brewers (Asahi & Kirin) are killing small brewers. Without indies you will lose choice and local small businesses that support the community.
The major parties are doing nothing to help, so what can you do?
1. in your local pub to help combat the unfair tap contracts that lock out small brewers.
2. Shop at local bottle shops that support indie beer - the major retailers masquerade home brands as indie craft beer
3. by visiting your local brewery taproom - Inner West Ale Trail is a good place to start!
4. Tell your local MP that small brewers need a break on the outrageous level of beer tax that is killing the industry and vote for change by not supporting the major parties!
