IWD: A Toast to Every Woman Who Pours Their Heart Into It
Confession: Even on International Women's Day, I find it hard to shout out myself. Maybe it’s years of just getting on with it, or the habit of shining the spotlight elsewhere, but today, I’m stepping into it.
Right now, at Rebel Hearts Distillers, it’s just me and Marcel, the co-founder, the rebel and my ride-or-die partner in crime. He’s the one who celebrates every high and low, sees my passion, my fire, and my heart, and reminds me why we started this journey. We’ve been through a lot, not just as business partners, but as two people sharing big dreams, big risks, and a wild idea we turned into something real. And while things don’t always go to plan; one thing has never changed: our absolute belief in each other and in what we’re building. That’s what true partnership looks like.
And that’s how it should be. For all women. In every workplace. Everywhere.
Because equality isn’t just about a seat at the table, it’s about how you’re made to feel once you’re there. It’s about joy, respect, opportunity, and the freedom to be as bold, ambitious, and unapologetic as we want.
Beyond that, it’s about role modelling for my twins, for their generation. For every girl with big dreams and wild ideas. Because I want my daughter to see dreams become reality when you act. When you push forward, back yourself, and refuse to settle. And I want my son to grow up watching his mum work hard, make big decisions, and be a boss. So when his generation see strong, capable women leading it isn’t the exception, it’s just normal.
Thank you to the incredible women joining us on this wild ride. Our fierce, smart, talented, and endlessly supportive community of customers, stockists, champions, and friends. You’ve lifted us, cheered us on, and poured so much love into Rebel Hearts, and I’m so damn grateful.
So today, we celebrate every woman who shakes up the status quo.
