A third-generation vigneron, the winemaker behind these Secret Label gems is one of the most respected names in the South Australian wine industry. He crafted his first wine in 1966, earning 24 trophies for the premium Leasingham range before launching his own Clare Valley label in 1976.
In 1981, he became the first to plant vines in the Lenswood subregion of the Adelaide Hills, where he still lives today. As the extraordinary potential of this cool-climate fruit became clear, he sold all his Clare Valley interests in 1995 to focus solely on the Adelaide Hills—and the results have been nothing short of exceptional.
